When you select a pier in the InfraWorks bridge model, you can then change the pier type by choosing another one from the catalog (using Project Kameleon, you can even add your own parametric piers and bridge components). A number of the piers in the catalog that ships with InfraWorks allow you to specify the number of columns, as shown in the image below.
