Terrain Overlays missing Lock and ON/OFF in Model Explorer 2026?

What happened to the settings for Terrain Overlays in Model Explorer? Normally there should be settings for Locking the data sources and also switching them ON/OFF?

You got a graphics issue. It's still the same. I restarted mine earlier today because I was getting some very strange dialog boxes. Worked as expected after the reboot.

Hey @Todd_Rogers , that doesn't seem to be the case in my Version 26.0.1.72, its still there after several reboots. This is very annoying because I can't get to my coverage areas that are beneath the Terrain Overlays. You have to switch of the layers of the Terrain Overlays for that.

@Karsten.Saenger can you confirm the issue?

Hi @Todd_Rogers , I'm specifically refering to Terrain Overlays. Can you test those?

There is also no Right Mouse Button Menu anymore, so no way to switch the Overlays OFF??

I can confirm I'm having the same issue. I've rebooted and updated graphics driver. All other locks and switches are there. just not the ones for overlays. I'm in ver. 26.0.1.72Model Explorer.png

When can we expect a fix to this? This is a real mess to work with. Actually almost impossible to work with when having a terrain overlay in the project.

Hi @John_de_Leeuw-NTI ,

due to our database, the current plan is to have this fixed in the next HotFix Update, scheduled for mid December.
If you can't wait, uninstall InfraWorks 2026.0.1 and install 2026.0. Due to the records, the issue was introduced with the latest update.

Regards,

Karsten.

Hey Karsten, thanks for replying. Uninstalling and going back to an older version is NO option because that version had the same problems in Model Explorer with all other feature categories. So we will have to wait then until mid december...

Wasn't in the last update. The only focus in updating InfraWorks is Bridge. Ara is an bridge guy, and that's all they are focusing on. This does need to be fixed. We are having to remove overlays, and put them back in. A real pain.

Hi @John_de_Leeuw-NTI  @Todd_Rogers ,
My latest info is that it should be fixed with HotFix 2. The planned release date is Dec. 16.
Let me know if the issue is not fixed with this HotFix.

Regards,
Karsten.

Hi @Karsten.Saenger, I've downloaded and installed Autodesk InfraWorks 2026 Hotfix 2 (December 2025 release) and can confirm that NOTHING has been fixed! This is very frustrating since I reported this defect several months ago here.

Please adress this defect asap, because its impacting projects heavily that make use of Terrain Overlays.

Hi @John_de_Leeuw-NTI ,

I was surprised that the issue isn't solved with the latest update, as well.
After researching why it didn't make it to the HotFix, I learned that the database has two entries (tickets) for the issue. One was marked with wrong information. The developers worked on the other ticket. Unfortunately, I only found the first ticket and provided you with the wrong information. I apologize about that.
The second ticket has raised to priority now. I will keep you informed about the news.

Regards,
Karsten.
