Style multiple Terrain Models

Style multiple Terrain Models

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi all,

Is there a way to style different terrain models independently from one another; basically I have connected a ground surface model (.asc file) and have flood levels in another file (again .asc) but when they are put in the same model whenever I create a terrain theme is applies to both the existing ground and the flood levels. Is there a way to style them independently from one another?

I thought I might be able to do this based on the surface layers but no such luck.

thanks

Hi @Anonymous ,

this is a product limitation, unfortunately.
Terrain themes are applied to all surface layers.
I suggest to create a product enhancement idea on forums.autodesk.com/t5/infraworks-360-ideastation/idb-p/129

Regards,

Karsten.

Perhaps you can try this : Place the flood model elevation data into its own Surface Layer category other than Ground Surface. For the flood category, set the style to the Water Shader style.

Hi @roskirko ,

excellent, this workaround seems to work:

  • Terrain themes is applied to all surface layers
  • But the water shader material overwrites it

This image shows a terrain surface layer with terrain themes and an additional surface layer below with water shader:
