Hello Everyone-

I have been waiting for this process to finish now for almost 2 hours...  Its been on 99% for 2 hours, is this normal?  Forgive me this is my first time using this feature in Infraworks.

I am just wondering how long I should wait before canceling the operation???

Thank you for your help in advance!

That last segment is more of wrapping up and loading the terrain and such to IW models. It shouldn't take this much time. How big is the  point cloud (area wise)? Maybe thats what causing the delay. Please let me know if you want us to check that out.

Thanks,

Hello Ramesh-

This is a large site it is just over 164 square km, I was given 7 different .XYZ files that I brought into RECAP, I then exported out a RCP file which is the point cloud that I am trying to generate ground terrain with.  It gets to 99% and never goes past 99%, the point cloud is about 24 million points.  I did let it run overnight just to see if it would finalize and still no success.

I setup this project based on the limits of the area the client had flown.  I was planning on trying to thin out the surface data in Infraworks so I could export out manageable point clouds that Civil 3D could process.  I also want to be able to do some preliminary haul route analysis to ensure the existing routes meet K values for crest and sag curves utilizing Infraworks component roads.

Please let me know how you would like me to share this with you, I do have this model in BIM 360 DOCS.

Thank you for your help on this!  I greatly appreciate it!

Thats odd. You can share the model via BIM360 or I can provide a OneDrive folder for you to upload XYZ or RCS files. Can you please email me so that I can provide the shared location?

Thanks,
