Pipelines length

Hi, is it possible to have length as a property of a pipeline. I know I can measure it with the measure tools but wonder if Infraworks can calculate the length for me?

Hi @Anonymous

I don't know that this functionality exists natively within Infraworks, however if you are importing from AutoCAD there are some excellent Autolisp routines floating around to calculate aggregated lengths of pipelines. Alternatively, this is a very simple spatial software (GIS) calculation.

I've attached a dvb that you could try with Civil3D. It is one that I just toyed with but it has a function to add up line lengths on a given layer.

If the pipelines are translated to Civil 3D and then converted to lines, it would add up the length of all lines on the current layer then report that total length.
