New Model Created - Error Reads "Unable to open Model"

I have Infraworks 2020 downloaded, I created a new model as I did with earlier versions, but this new model has a model builder icon in lower right corner and when I click on the model to open it, the error reads, "Unable to open Model", how do I delete this model and start a new one?

Hi @Anonymous

Did you click on the model tile and try again to open it? Try closing down InfraWorks, reopen, and let all the model tiles load. Then try clicking the tile again.

Seth,
I did try that options a few times, here is a screenshot of the model in the tiles, I would like to just delete it and try to recreate it, how do I delete it?

Where do you have your "cache location for cloud models" path set? Set it to your C drive and try opening it again.

OK, thanks for verifying.

Let's try this, send another model request (with a different name) and see what happens. Also if you could grab the tracking number, we can look make sure everything is good on it's path through Model Builder.

Also, what version of IW are you using?

I just created a new model for a separate job, everything worked as it should, I got the email that model was created, I opened up Infraworks, clicked on model, it created a copy of model for some reason, so now in my lower right corner there is a house, the other model has the little globe that says model builder, why does it create two models? How do I delete the model that won't open?

Accepted solution

The model is deleted from the cloud (model builder icon) once it has been opened. If the model is unable to be opened, it can't be deleted by the user as far as I know. I can pass that along to the team that deals with the cloud storage of the models and see if that is something they can address.

As for the two model icons, the only one that should be there is the "house". Try refreshing the model list and see if the original disappears.
