Model Builder Request Failed. Problem 210, Model Builder Not Working!

Hello There, Absolute beginner with infraworks here so be patient.

I'm attempting to use model builder for a select area that comes under the 200 sq.km limit. However when i select create model, i get the error code 210. I've looked at several forums and attempted to find a solution myself. However to no avail. I'm just looking for some advice or a solution to this problem,

Many thanks,

Rob

Hi @hydroplan

What version are you seeing this issue on? Are you on a trial of InfraWorks?

Hi @hydroplan

in addition to @SethHall 's question, can you send the InfraWorks log files from C:\Users\<<USER>>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Autodesk InfraWorks\logs ?

Regards,

Karsten

Hi  @SethHall,

yes I'm currently using the trial version of infraworks 2019 to learn with, before using the full version.

Hello,

I'm having trouble locating the Logs following - C:\Users\<<USER>>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Autodesk InfraWorks\logs

the closest I can get is - C:\Program Files\Autodesk\InfraWorks

any advice on where I can find the logs?

Many thanks,

Hi @hydroplan

probably the folder is hidden. Type "%appdata%" in the Windows File Explorer to open the hidden folder path.

You can select to have the file Explorer always show hidden files in the file explorer options / settings.

Regards,

Karsten.

Hi @hydroplan

So is Model Builder working for you at this point in time? If not, I have some additional questions/suggestions:

Do you or your company have a BIM360 account? If so click the "B" in the upper left of the InfraWorks window and log into BIM360 when the browser launches.

Have you ever installed an earlier version of InfraWorks on this machine you are working on right now?

@SethHall,

It currently still isn't working, we don't have a BIM360 account and we have never had a previous version of infraworks installed.

when using my autodesk log in to get into BIM360, several packages and options are offered to me, which one do I need, if any?

Many thanks.

Hi @hydroplan

You don't need any versions of BIM360, I was just curious as the entitlements may have played a factor in the issue you are seeing. Could you please browse to this location and delete the following folders:

C:\Users\<<YOUR USER NAME>>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk InfraWorks\cache

C:\Users\<<YOUR USER NAME>>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk InfraWorks\QtWebEngine

AppData is a hidden folder so you can reveal it by clicking the VIEW tab of Windows Explorer, then check HIDDEN ITEMS to show the hidden folders. Also you can type %APPDATA% in the Windows Start menu search bar.

Close and reopen InfraWorks and those folders will be recreated. Try opening Model Builder at that time.

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

Hi @hydroplan

I see two types of errors in the log files:

  • connection errors: are you using a proxy server or is any AntiVirus program blocking something?
  • GIT errors: do you have a second GIT installation or a program installed that has its own GIT?

Regards,

Karsten.

@SethHall,

Thanks for the tips, after carrying out the steps twice, I am still currently getting the error message.

Model builder is opening fine on its own, it's just when I search a specific area and try to create the model of the area, the error code 210 pops up.

many thanks,

Hi @hydroplan

I have one more request to help us better understand. Could you please launch InfraWorks, then open Model Builder and take a screen shot of the entire Model Builder window?

Thanks so much!
