Loss of data

Hi there,

Is there any reason why Infraworks is losing my work? I have created a number of buildings within a proposal, switched to the master and 75% of them have disappeared. The last time it lost data the file became corrupt when i came to open it again a couple of hours later.

Any ideas?

Many thanks,

Katie

If you add buildings to a proposal, but not the master, then those buildings won't exist in the master. Conversely, if you add buildings to a master, then create a new proposal, those buildings will show up in the proposal.

Thanks,

Elliott

I understand that, but when I click back into the proposal where I have created the buildings most of them have disappeared.

@Anonymous this sounds to me like a video graphics card issue.  When you switch between proposals you can quickly count objects (see the short Screencast below). I would suggest doing that as a first step test and see what the count is. Make note of what it's supposed to be before doing this. Second, does your graphics card have the latest drivers installed?

Third, when you reopen the model, are things still missing??

Hi Matt,

I've done the count test as suggested and interestingly the number of buildings on my proposal changed from 52 to 18 but it doesn't look like there are any further missing...(at least 75% more missing than I originally drew unfortunately!)

I knew that something was off when I was showing a colleague how you draw a building, and waited for the properties to appear, but instead of the attributes showing up, the property boxes were not even there and no building was drawn.

I've checked the graphics card drivers and all are showing as the latest versions, so I would assume its not that now either.

Bit stumped now! Just hoping that when I close the model that it doesn't suddenly become corrupt like has happened previously..
