Infraworks needs admin rights to process local 3D models with Navis

"Autodesk Navisworks-based Local Import: Components such as Autodesk Navisworks Manage 2020 or Navisworks Simulate 2020 64-bit are required. To enable Local Import after you have installed Navisworks, you may have to run InfraWorks as an Administrator, which will copy three plugin files to the local Navisworks directory."
We are testing VDI at the office and are experiencing some issues with this.
Does anyone know which 3 plugin files need to be copied and where should they be copied to?
Thanks in advance for your time and help

Hope this will help!

Hi @tmachado ,

I didn't receive an official statement from our porduct team yet, but I tested myself and don't find any difference in the Navisworks installation folder after I installed InfraWorks.

I'm wondering if that information in the help files is outdated and no files are copied to Navisworks at all.

I will continue investigating and let you know what I find out.

Regards,
Karsten.

Hi @Karsten.Saenger  definitely is something happening in the background, if the option is set to do local import, if your account is not set to have admin rights you will get this window

@tmachado

If you encountered any problem automatically copying those files, you can do it manually. Copy all files under InfraWorks directory e.g. "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\InfraWorks\NavisworksPlugin\Release" to Navisworks root directory e.g. "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Navisworks Manage 2020". Be noted that since InfraWorks 2021.0, no need to copy any plugin as Navisworks 2021 contains it already by default.

Let us know if any further issues , thanks.

Hi @tmachado , did you manually copy those files to Navisworks? Some files exist there by default with different versions, we need those in InfraWorks to be copied. If you already did so, I've no idea what's the problem, maybe related to your system configuration, we need to do more investigations.
