Infraworks 2020 with Civil3D 2019

Hi there, is it possible to run Infraworks 2020 with Civil3D 2019 while maintaining the ability to add a connection to the DWG to utilize: surfaces, corridors, etc.?

In my experience, the answer is no. The versions need to match. This page also says the same thing:

However, you can just export IMX files from Civil 3D and then the versions don’t matter.

Only way to mix versions is to use the IMX export. However, there is no "live" connection.
