Importing Corridors from Civil 3d

INFRAWORKS .png

civil 3d .png

HI!

I am having some issues in importing corridors from Civil 3D. issues are mentioned below:

1: As you can see in attached picture that infraworks is not reading corridors from civil 3d file (i have tried .imx file even .landxml file but its working)  whereas all corridors have built in a same way.

2: Even there is no Lane marking on corridors

Kindly help me out in resolving these issues.

Hi @rafaymughal406W5AEY ,

is it possible to share the Civil 3D DWG file?

I can imagine a number of reasons why the corridor is not created the same way in InfraWorks as in Civil 3D.
But basically, if a corridor looks fine in Civil 3D, it should also look the same in InfraWorks.

Regards,

Karsten.

Hello @rafaymughal406W5AEY ,

thank you for sharing the DWG.
I found out that obviously the alignment geometry that you used to create the corridors is not loaded into InfraWorks.

Do you have more information how the geometry was created?

You can solve the issue by recreating the alignments in Civil 3D:

  1. Create a Feature Line from the alignment
  2. Explode the Feature Line
  3. Convert the 3D Polyline to 2D Polyline
  4. Create an Alignment from Object, select the 2D Polyline
  5. You will need to recreate the profiles for the alignments
  6. Exchange the alignments in the Corridor
  7. Export or load the DWG into InfraWorks

The roads should be imported after the steps above.

Regards,

Karsten
