Import .xml terrain from civil 3d to infraworks

Hi autodesk community,

I'm new to infraworks and i'm having trouble import xml generated terrain from civil 3d.

When I import in infraworks and configure terrain coordinate system nothing shows in the model.

I tried with multiple times and every time get's the same result. So i'm doing something wrong and I don't know what, so I'm asking for help. Thank you in advance 😉

Can you try using the IMX export instead of XML?

Hi Igor,

Thank you for providing the files. I opened your DWG drawing and I believe this is the main cause of the issue.

I've set a given coordinate system: MGI-1901 Balkans Zone 5 - Croatia

Then I turn on Maps in the Geolocation tab. This is what I've got:

Civil3D.jpg

It looks that surface data (in particular, the drawing objects that have been used to create the surface) are way shifted from the coordinate system. Maybe copied in with the wrong reference point. Could you explain your workflow on this? How did you create your surface?

When the surface is simply moved to the coordinate system location, then exported to the XML file again, it can be imported to InfraWorks with no issue.

Thank you that was the problem. Now I  imported the surface correctly. I have received wrong geodet data I didn't  control  the coordinates. Thank you alot for your time 😉
