Export 3D FBX model to Navisworks but no textures or materials could be read

I have exported a FBX file directly from Infraworks 360. In the setting part, I have checked "Export Textures/Materials" option. However, when I append the fbx model into my navisworks, the textures/materials do not come with the model and my model in navisworks showed up as attached. Anyone has encountered the same problem? Thank you!

Hi, I just exported a model I recently created in InfraWorks 360 using Model Builder to an FBX, and left the export options default, including the 'Export Textures/Materials' option. I then imported the FBX into NW Manage 2016, and get these results:

Everything appears just as it does in InfraWorks.

What data sources are you using for the IW model? Have you tried to import these directly to NW rather than an export from IW? Do you have that option?

Willy, Thank you so much for the reply. I created a site from model builder in IW and I only drew one building to give it a test. I exported the FBX. and import it into my navisworks 2014 (I do not have 2016 NW...Is this the reason?)

Can you explain how to import directly into NW?

Thanks a lot.

I need to check NW 2014 to see if I get the same results...

When I say import, I meant I use the Append option to get the FBX into NW.

Yes, I appended fbx directly into NW.

It looks like the version of Navisworks is the culprit here. I imported the same model into NW 2015 [already installed] and here are my results:

I agree. I just download NW 2016 trial version and imported the same fbx file and the model turns out fine. Problem solved! I guess I will need to upgrade my navisworks version then. Thank you so much for your help!

Not a problem! Glad it wasn't something more sinister!
