Hello,
Is it possible to calculate the lenght of time a surface is exposed to sunshine during a given day with Infraworks?
Thanks a lot
Hi @bertrand.savarit ,
I can't think of a way how to calculate that.
To properly calculate that you need to measure light intensity that a surface receives. InfraWorks does not have such analysis tools.
But you can export the InfraWorks model to other tools that might be capable to analyze that.
Another option I can think of: Create a Theme based on slope of the surface. Also create a Theme based on orientation of the surface. Based on these two numbers you probably could calculate the intensity of received light/sunshine on a surface.
Regards,
Karsten.
I do not know of a direct way.
You can create a video of an entire day of exposure and count the hours.
I have attached a zipped recording of a demonstration I gave last week of creating an animation for a sun/shadow study with captions. From this you can count (manually) the number of hours of exposure.
When the file is unzipped, inside is another folder in which there is a file called playrecording.html. Click that file and the recording should play. Note: the model is very simple and is used just to show the movement of shadows.
