Combine Road and InfraWorks ground surface

I want to combine existing road surfaces and existing ground surfaces that InfraWorks creates using model builder.  I want both of those to export as one surface to imx so I can bring into civil 3D.  Anybody know of a great procedure or trip to combine the two when exporting into IMX or a trick to combine the two in C3D ? Trying to avoid having 2 surfaces need one so contours look like they have been pasted together

Hi @cluna ,

if you export IMX to Civil 3D there are always surfaces of the separated terrain data sources - in your case it's existing ground from Model Builder (SRTM) and surface from roads.

I suggest to create a new and empty surface object in Civl 3D and just insert both other surfaces to merge them. Keep a look at the order you add surfaces to the merge terrain.
