I'm not sure what previous version of Infraworks (Edit 21.2.15.0 for the executable) I have, but I want to install 2022. I can't install because it detects previous version, which I can't uninstall because it shows Failed to Get Allied Product about 3 times and bombs. I followed Autodesk instructions of running Windows Install/Uninstall Troubleshooter on (2) instances of Infraworks it found, the Infraworks Language Pack, and Infraworks Content Something. The trouble shooter no longer finds the Infraworks apps, said the errors were all fixed each of those four times. Still cannot uninstall old version. The Autodesk uninstall tool didn't work, just disappeared, now Infraworks doesn't show up in the list anymore.
What should I do? Would a brute force removal followed by a regcleaner work? The old version is broken, won't run. Should I try to reinstall then uninstall it?
thanks
Hi @Anonymous ,
it sounds as something on your Windows system installation of InfraWorks is severly broken.
The following article shows some options that you can try to remove things manually.

Other than that, I suggest to try Windows FixIt to remove any remaining InfraWorks entries:

Thank you. I like the procedure in the clean uninstall link. Unfortunately, there's something broken. The app is essentially uninstalled, but Windows still sees it somehow. It is listed in the Windows uninstaller list, but choosing modify, repair, reinstall, or uninstall it bombs almost immediately.
But maybe I will try to remove all traces of the software (brute force uninstall), delete those registry keys, run the Windows troubleshooter, then try to install the current version.
Thanks.
Hi @Anonymous ,
I experienced similar issues with other programs in the past.
There is one other solution you can try: Go back into a previous Windows state with a recovery point -> System Recovery in the Windows Control Panel.
But this only makes sense if you don't have to go back in time for too long time. Otherwise other programs might not work anymore.

Karsten.
OK, the first link worked, sort of. I manually removed alll reference to Infraworks, ran Windows troubleshooter (no I-works left), ran a regcleaner and removed over 1000 Installer refrences to Infraworks, and now 2022 Doesn't error out because of a previous version being installed.
Now it's erroring out because of a group policy conflict, but that I will work out with IT.
Thanks for your help!
