Calling Infaworks functions via script or API

Greetings,

I'm looking to automate some tasks I manually perform inside Infraworks by executing some of the built-in functions via Script or an API call. For example I'd like to

• Import a Road CL (.shp or similar)
• Convert it to a Component Road
• Apply a predefined cross section
• Apply grading rules
• Export the earthworks cut / fill volumes & quantity analysis

I've looked at the 2014 API reference docs which has some excellent information within, however I could not find mention of Component roads or Earthworks calculation functions.

Can someone out there in Infraworks land (possibly related to development?) clue me up on executing these routines in an automated way?

Hu @andrewofabley ,

the Java script API was developed for the 2014 (and older) versions of InfraWorks and never updated with the new functionality of newer versions.

I will try to find out if there is any newer information available at all.

sorry, no news.

Officially, InfraWorks does not have an API.

The existing JavaScript API was developed for the very first versions of InfraWorks and the commands still work. But newer InfraWorks features are not included.

In general, there is an internal discussion to create an API, especially since Dynamo scripting becomes popular with Revit, AutoCAD and Civil 3D....
