Bing Map Coordinate Problem

I created a terrain surface model and added Ground Imagery (a Bing Map).  The imagery doesn't display in the correct location.  The terrain model was created in Civil 3D (2022) and has the coordinate system set to HARN/OK.OK-NF.  The imagery coordinate system is set to HARN/OK.OK-NF.  The imagery should show a road and moderate development. Instead it is showing a forest.  Any suggestions?

Bing imagery isn't updated but once about every 3-4 years. Very old data.

Thank you for responding.  It's true that Bing can run behind with photography, however the road and development have been in place for decades.  I built this model yesterday and everything lined up.  Later in the evening InfraWorks crashed with a .git issue.  I began having this problem this morning when I went to rebuild the project from scratch.  I even created a new model on a different project and have the same issue.  I am able to build the model with model builder and it works out. But I want to be able to build it locally from my base elements like I did yesterday.

There have been some issues in the past with this and @SethHall has always been helpful in getting the OpenStreet issue resolved for the area of interest. Hopefully he will step in and get you fixed up! TIA Seth!

Hi @hwilsonXBPEC ,

it sounds very starnge that there is a mismatch between Model Builder data and your own data sources, especially if they line up before in another model.

Do you have the chance to load your data and the InfraWorks model in Civil 3D. Use the GEOMAP command to load Bing Imagery there. Does the data show in the correct location?

Is it possible to share the InfraWorks model and some of the local data sources that you want to add and that doesn't match? I would like to test it on my side. I can share a OneDrive folder for the upload, let me know.

Regards,

Karsten.

Karsten, thank you for responding.  I can share the files with you to test.  I created the terrain model in Civil 3D and imported it into Ifraworks.  The Bing image is correct in InfraworksInfraworksCivil 3DCivil 3DCivil 3D

Hi @hwilsonXBPEC ,

I have shared a OneDrive folder with you for the data upload.

It sounds as it is only a DWG file with the terrain. If there is any additional data I need, please upload it as well.
If you upload an InfraWorks model please create a zip file of the model.sqlite and model.files folder and upload that single zip file.

Regards,

Karsten.

Hi @hwilsonXBPEC ,

thanks again for sharing the data.
The reason why the Bing Images are wrong in your InfraWorks model is, because you have input your model coordinate system (HARN/OK.OK-NF) into the Bing Image data source coordinate system.
Bing Images are always using the WGS84.PseudoMercartor coordinate systems.
Once you change that in the data source configuration, the Bing Images will show the correct location.
