.asc file (data from LIDAR) need to be imported to infraworks ANYHOW. This file contains terrain data for my model.

It is ok even if this file can be imported in some other format so that it can be brought to infraworks (I just want terrain in infraworks).

I imported the file as raster in infraworks but it did not able to configure.

This window is getting opened when the data is configured. This window is getting opened when the data is configured.

this could happen if the CS is invalid. What CS is assigned while importing the file?

would you mind to share the .asc file with me to take a look at it? what's the CS of model used? normally, we see the error if the file is positioned to unsupported location.

Hi @Anonymous,

I suggest to use Recap (free) or Recap Pro (subscription or included in the AEC collection) to create a Recap point cloud (RCP or RCS) from your ASC file.
Just import the Recap point cloud into InfraWorks, it should work fine.

My experience with importing point cloud data directly into InfraWorks: it might be slow.

Note:
ASC file can mean XYZ point data in ASCII format or it's an ESRI elevation file - I am assuming you have a XYZ ASCII file - just to align what we are talking about.

Regards,

Karsten.

The OS has updated the BNG.

Use OSGB-GPS-2002.

This will also account for the shift associated with the new OS Nation Grid
