I would like to adjust the wing walls of the pre-loaded bridge abutment to be 45 degrees instead of 90.  Is there a way in inventor to simply rotate the walls?  Seems like that should be an easy thing to do without having to recreate the entire abutment, but I am completely new to inventor and cant seem to figure it out.

Thanks

If you choose the "Enhanced abutment" from the catalog, you can control the skew angle of either wing wall, as shown in the image below.  From the Style Palette, if you navigate to the Bridge/Abutments folder in the Parametric Models folders, you can open up the corresponding Inventor model to understand how the component was modeled.

Thanks, I was making it much more complicated than it needed to be.

Next question, is there a way to have the design road grading end at the wing walls?bridge.JPG

Right now there isnt a good way to handle grading at the abutment.  The roadside grading on the left and right sides of the road wraps around the abutment.

One thing that helps (but isnt perfect) is, with either the left or right side grading zone selected, right click > split the grading as close to the abutment as possible, then set it's fill slope to 0.1:1.  You can then select the abutment and adjust the 'Offset' to move it away from the grading a bit.

We are actively working on adding more detailed grading at the abutments, so hopefuly you'll have a nice clean solution soon.

BTW, in the 'TYPE' panel of the stack, what material is the road surface using?

Thanks,

Austin

The style for the roadway on the bridge is set to Street/Bridge/Deck/Simple Barrier1 Forward.

In the style palette the setting are:
