Unfortunately, you're not going to get much data from your FBX. InfraWorks 360 doesn't export any useful data in the FBX file. If this is something you'd like to see implemented in a future release then I highly recommend you voting up this idea in the InfraWorks Ideas forum@Eric_Chappell 's update for that idea back in July says that it's not currently being considered but will be kept on the list for future consideration (providing there's enough interest in this feature from the InfraWorks community).

Hi @Anonymous,

sorry for late response, unluckily there is no way around that. Not now. There is no information that could be taken out.

Follow what @Matt__W said.

Best

Hi @Anonymous ,

this situation hasn't changed. FBX is "just" geometry and no attributes.

I am wondering if your attributes make the way to Civil 3D if you open your model there. From Civil 3D you could export as 3D solids with attached attributes.
Problem is, that InfraWorks is a database and data sources use certain schema tables. When you convert to geometry (FBX) the schema cannot (?) or is not attached to an object/file.

Regards,

Karsten.

Hello,

I have the same problem. I want to use the infraworks model in an other software but the project structure and every data and the characteristics assigned are being lost.. Is there now any way about civil 3D to get an ifc or something else to work with?

Thank you!

Best regards

Annika
