Issue Finding Projects in Informed Design

Hi All,

Running into a quick problem here trying to publish product definitions.

For context, I had a 30 day free trial for BIM Collaborate Pro that expired yesterday, and I have the AEC Collection and Inventor through work.

Since my BIM Collaborate Pro free trial has expired, I have not had access to the project that I created on my free trial on my account.

So a company account created a new project that we will use as a library and have made me project admin.

My issue is that when trying to publish product definitions, I have no options as to selecting a account name or project name and folder locations as a result, in order to publish a product definition.

Not sure what the issue is here, hopefully someone can provide a quick fix for this. Is it a case that I need BIM Collaborate Pro? Or am I missing something simple.

Many thanks,

Matthew

Hi @matthewlenehan542 ,

Do you need access to the existing projects created with the trial account? If so, please take a look at the following information on the Autodesk Docs page HERE.

Note: The company Autodesk account manager will likely need to do this.

Can you check the server location where the new project has been setup? ie. acc.autodesk.eu or acc.autodesk.com

It looks to me that it is likely the project could be set up on the acc.autodesk.eu EU server which Informed Design is not yet supported on.

If you are working on the acc.autodesk.com US server then have you setup project folders to publish too and set the minimum required permissions for Docs folder to work with Informed Design for Inventor and Revit. Please see our help Minimum Permission Requirements.

FYI: You only need access to Autodesk Docs as we are using the folders within Docs, but you can still access Informed Design if you are using Docs via your BIM Collaborate, Build, or Takeoff license.

Hi Gareth,

Ah yes I see that, my trial project was on .com and the new project is on .eu

In that case do I need a .com account in order to set up a project on acc.autodesk.com or can this be done using a .eu account?

And related to that then, if I make a project on acc.autodesk.com, can I bridge that project to a location on my acc.autodesk.eu project. So that I could publish product definitions on the acc.autodesk.com project, and access them though the acc.autodesk.eu project?

One final question then on this, are there plans to have Informed Design supported on acc.autodesk.eu in the near future?

Thanks,

Matthew

Hi @matthewlenehan542 ,

Currently Informed Design only works when using the acc.autodesk.com and not with acc.autodesk.eu. Which means if you try and connect to a project on acc.autodesk.eu you cannot publish from Inventor or access from Revit you will be able to.

Please look at setting up a hub on the acc.autodesk.com server. This will be the location to publish to and those needing access to the product definitions can then discover, configure, and place from.

This has been noted by our development team for future consideration. Whilst I cannot guarantee immediate implementation our development team are working on customer feedback and prioritizes features based on demand and feasibility.

Regards,

Gareth
