I am getting this error when I load the BIM Definition for Inventor via Add-Ins.  If I unload this add-in the error goes away.   Any would be appreciated.

Hi @lorrinbCD66K, could you please provide us with some more information on the error you are seeing?

  1. Does the error occur when starting Inventor or only after a document has been opened?
  2. Can the error be reproduced if Inventor is first started with the BIM Definition add-in deactivated and the BIM Definition add-in is then manually activated?
  3. Have any 3rd-party add-ins been installed and if so, which ones?

1. Error occurs at start up.

2. Error can be reproduced if BIM Definition is deactivated and BIM add-in manually.

3.  3rd party:  Informed Design

Do AutoDESK Docs have to be installed for the BIM Properties panel to show on the ribbon.

Not sure if this is the exact fix, but I used the Inventor Reset Utility and the error went away.  The  BIM Definition tab now appears on the ribbon.

@lorrinbCD66K Thanks for the information! Did you happen to have the 'Amber' setting checked in the 'Application Options ' Colors tab? We think the issue might be related to having the 'Amber' setting checked in the Light UI Theme. Unchecking that seems to be a workaround for this. Using the Inventor Reset Utility will probably default to Light theme with the 'Amber' setting unchecked which is why it fixed the issue for you.

Thanks for checking. We will continue looking into this issue but we can use the Inventor Reset Utility as a workaround until then.

FYI, I did go back and check the 'Amber' setting.  This caused the error to occur again.  I then unchecked the 'Amber' setting and the error went away.  So there is definitely an issue having the 'Amber' setting is checked and trying to load the BIM Definition Add-In.
