Remove 3D print from toolbar

Remove 3D print from toolbar

This does not need to be in the tool bar. It's there for promotion of 3d printing but it just takes up space. It's not something that is used while modeling. It's just in the wrong place. Having it under the file menu is fine. I would like to remove it from my toolbar. Maybe add an option to the preference panel to display it or not.

Agreed - it feels like a bit of feature creep. Having the functionality there and accessible is great but the top level UI should be reserved for things people need and use often.

I really like it there, if you feel it takes up space maybe invest in a wider monitor? I have a lot of free space in my menu bar.

Perhaps the idea here is «let users edit the toolbar» rather than «make a specific change to the toolbar» ?

Hey piotruss, maybe I should buy an Apple Watch and use it as a second monitor. Should be just the right size for that 'Make Icon'.

Some time in the past I have proposed some additions to the UI and the Autodesk guys said that it is not intended to clutter the UI! Things may have changed since then? I also don't like the 3D printing icon, because a) it has nothing to do with creating a design and b) it only promotes Autodesk Print Studio an BriteHub, of which I use ore like none.

It would be fine, if Fusion 360 had a Ribbon menu interface (on PC and Mac) like 3ds max has. There the 3D Print section could live alongside with all the other tools. But not with the current menu bar.

Ask and you shall receive.

We will allow the removal of panels which are not being used. We have put this in our backlog as UP-30590. Expect to see it in a future release
