I have lost countless time by trying to step through my timeline and accidentally clicking the play button. Please move, hide, or remove this button until you provide some way to stop or cancel the playback. PLEASE!
The most annoying button in Fusion...: Sometimes, I accidentally click on it (because it is so close to the 'go to end of design history' button. Then, I have to watch for about 15 minutes how Fusion plays back the whole design history, without any possibility to cancel it.
Please remove this button it is so useless. Or add a command to cancel the playback. Thanks....
Voted for it. I think the concept of the "play" button in Fusion 360 shoudl be standardized across the various workspaces to offer more consistency.
At a minimum the ESC key should exit history playback.
Using the Simulate function in the CAM workspace also brings up a different set of play controls. The UI is inconsistent in that you need a mouse to invoke, but a keyboard to to exit (esc key). It's bad design.
Autodesk should standardize on play controls that YouTube and any video editing product uses. Space Bar for toggling between play and pause. The ability to click into the workspace to exit. The ability to jump back into play at the place you left off. The ability to jump into full screen with a text overlay telling users how to exit.
we agree that the current implementation is sub-optimal.
so we have logged the following solutions:
support pausing/interupting calculations (this is a very heavy technical implementation on our side and while we know we need to do it, it's not likely to happen quickly)
providje a warning where large models (anything that will take linger than 1 minute to re-compute) we'll warn you and allow you to back out before the "play" starts.
having a minimized playback control state that shows only the forward and backward stepper.
fixing the position of the play button so it is the control in the middle of the controls (common to other media playback controls layouts).
we'll be prioritizing the last three on this list fix for future updates.
Another vote to hide the play button for now via a default minimized playback control state. The time costs are too expensive for hitting the play button.
