Import text from DXF file

Import text from DXF file

I was amazed a week ago to find out that Fusion 360 discards all texts in DXF files, I don't know what is the reason for this action, but it will be a great help to be able import texts also (now I have to use another program to convert TEXT to polylines in each drawing I get from the clients)

PS. This is really weird for me as this is the first program EVER that deleted all the TEXTS from imported DXF files, even the free DXF viewers display the texts

Thank you.

Thats the same probem fo me. If you not have the possibility to convert the text into lines before exporting it to dxf you can see no text in fusion360.

This is really weird.

FUSION 360 team please please fix this. This is essential.   (version 2.0.3257 sept. 2017)

I've got a bit of a weird workaround, but it involves software outside the Autodesk suite.

If you've got access to VCarve, you can import your DXF - it retains layers and imports everything as polylines and arcs, including text.

Then export your DXF from VCarve, import the result into an open sketch in Fusion 360 and there ya go, text and all.

It's really a shame, we're talking one year later and such a basic feature is still not available.

I don't understand, I can't explain what ware they thinking when made this software, this is a basic feature, it is available in every CAD program, I'm curious if anyone can name a CAD software that discards all the texts when importing an DXF drawing.

Is there any future plans for text to import?  This is one of the biggest issues from us committing to using Fusion exclusively.
