Thread mill is not a valid tool for drill operation/thread milling

invalid tool type for drilling4.JPGSince the tool database has the option to define tools as a treadmill, i would like to change my threadmills from 'flat mill' to 'thread mill'.

we Always use our machine specific thread mill cycle/operation from heidenhaind to make thread. And because a drill operation has the nice function to 'autodetect same diameter' I would like to keep on going with the drill operation/threadmilling, but still define te tool is a threadmill because of the pitch what you can add?

Is there a specific reason for the error 'thread mill is not a valid tool for drill operation' even if it is a tread mill operation?

note: It works fine for the 2d opereation/thread

Isaac

@helge_brettschneider can you check if this is in the system already?

I suspect it is, but one that is an easy fix with big reward for the users.

I'm checking on this. I don't see an existing ticket, offhand.

Glad I can help 🙂

We have 2 new tickets here: CAM-6479 (HSMWorks) and CAM-6480 (Inventor/Fusion).

I think we can get this in quickly.

awesome, it looks like it is solved or getting solved, how does that work with the tickets? is it gonna be in a next update? or just a quick fix?

We are focusing on delivering updates every quarter, with experimental/development builds in between. Next quarterly update would be early April, most likely.
