Tapered Slot

Hey.

Was wondering if anyone knew of an operation that could mill out these slots on a tapered comb. But only cut the stock that's left after creating the tapers. Instead of cutting fresh air for over half the OP

I did 3 off that weren't tapered with the trace function and it worked great. The cycle time is 18mins. And to 3D mill the tapers and clear it is 12min or less.

how about more info

material?

cutter size?

is the part finished and you are just adding the slots or machining the whole thing, what opps before?

also you should start from the outside and go into it, you may be able to take a deeper depth of cut.

or use 3D Contour with a smaller cutter and it should follow the stock.

many ways even drawing 2D lines the length you want to cut, more work up front but fast cutting.
