Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I have not been able to get the thread mill toolpath to plunge using the plunge feedrate to the bottom of the hole before starting the lead in for the first thread.
I am using a single point tool (sketched as a form mill). When creating the path I specify a cutting rate, Lean-in/out rate and ramp and plunge rates. The tool path created uses the lead in to position the tool from the top of the hole, all the way to the bottom (not the plunge feedrate), and then the cutting feedrate once the cutting starts.
If a hole is relatively deep, and the feedrate slow, it can take a few seconds just to reach the bottom of the hole.
Is there any way to make the toolpath use the plunge feedrate when moving the tool to the bottom of the hole?
Thanks
