Merge Parts

Hello,

Was wondering if anyone could help me with merging two parts. I have a part that I already machined , but realized that I need to make some changes to it. Is there a way to merge my new revised file with my old file I used to machine the part? I'm trying to do this so that I don't have multiple files for the same part. Thanks

I believe what you are wanting to do works best in an assembly. In that situation, I usually create an assembly with both models, and choose the updated part as the part to machine on. Then it is easier to see if you will violate any surfaces as well. And then you can copy and paste your toolpaths from the part file, to the updated model in the assembly.

you can also use your previous model as stock, then you know exactly the material to remove.
