This morning, I uninstalled and reinstalled Inventor HSM Ultimate 2018 with a restart in between and after. I am receiving the same "Installation Incomplete. Please Re-install." dialog box.
I am now performing the Inv 2018.2.3 Update and Inv HSM Ultimate 2018.3 Update. Which has not changed the result.
Trying to consider all possibilities, the only change that I am aware of to my system was the installation of the Inventor Add-In "DuctPro." I do not recall if I successfully posted a CAM file since the installation of DuctPro.
A review of the the log file and nc output file from executing post is giving me a satisfactory result with good numeric code generated (compared against a previous successfully proven post.)
Upon additional investigation, I noticed under Manage-->Options-->External, the Editor was selected to InventorHSMEdit.exe File Version 6.20.9.0 with a Date Modified of 11/30/2017. I changed the file to AutodeskHSMEdit.exe Version 8.1.5.0 with a Date Modified of 12/12/2017. And all works just dandy now.
So, while pleased that it appears to be working, I am baffled about:
1) What is the difference between InventorHSMEdit.exe and AutodeskHSMEdit.exe? If one works and other doesn't, why are they both there?
2) Why did my system apparently work fine pointed to InventorHSMEdit and then all of sudden quit?
3) How/why did this happen? Okay so that really is just a repeat of question 2, but I am stumped.
