HSM Works 2024 - Toolpath buttons not working

Hey, I've just freshly installed Solidworks 2023 & HSM Works 2024 onto a new computer and opened one of my frequent job files. All my old toolpaths are there and the set up data is present & correct. I can edit an existing toolpath & the interface looks as it always has except that the buttons to make a new toolpath when clicked don't show the drop down window with toolpath options to be selected.

This is for the "Drill" "2D Milling" 3D Milling" "Multi-Axis Milling" & "Turning" buttons. They have no function when clicked on and the usual dropdown does not appear.

Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm un able to continue my work without HSM Works is this a bug or something to do with the latest updates?

any help here would be much appreciated! Thanks

Dan

Can you show a screenshot? It might be good to try to reset the toolbars.

Try what this page shows: https://help.solidworks.com/2023/english/WhatsNew/c_wn2023_ui_restoring_default_settings.htm

Hi Jeff

sorry for the delay, I've been moving workshops. What a mission!

I've tried playing with the default settings and customizing the toolbar buttons but it does not work.

When customizing the toolbar buttons they are missing the data and instead of HSM icons available it has an error symbol displayed where there should be all the icons and labels from the drop down. I'll make a little screen video and share it with you via google drive.

Have had any other programs installed before this started?

any Windows Updates?

sometimes those can mess with you other software.

Well, that is super weird. Did you try resetting the UI with info from the link I shared above?

Kind of a long shot, but have you tried reinstalling Solidworks?

Hey yes I've tried resetting the solidworks default settings as suggested. I have not yet tried re installing solidworks but I suppose that's the next thing to try.

No it's all a fresh set up on a formatted computer after a big old catastrophic crash that lost most of my applications. I also might try get it working on a friends computer to rule any lingering crash symptoms out though.

If the crash was as bad as you say I would get a new HD and start over....everything fresh windows then start install all you programs. heck you can get inexpensive SSD HD's they scream.

i say this cause who knows what has been affected in the core program
