In Master-cam they offer the ability to lead in and lead out material with the option to adjust the acceleration feed rate over a distance in lieu of instantly changing feed rate. Example, Lead in feed rate set at 50 in/min. 6" distance, the tooling std feed rate is 500 in/min., because of this, we have to manually adjust the feed rate at the equipment with the potentiometer so we don't snap the tooling or push the part off the vacuum table. I am cutting Aluminum plate up to 3/4" thick mostly 3/16" - 1/4" range. I have been ramping the tooling down past the sheet then coming back in at full feed rate, its side pressure increases over distance because of ramping. I am using Inventor HSM.
