Post Wizard

Just thinking out loud and after going through the many videos and Docs and CHM file and manual.

Would it be at all possible to developing a Post Wizard that can atleast create a basic post for any user based on their criterias.

The wizard include all the generic posts used as a reference database to best match the user requirements based on Q&A.

If that is not enough, then the Wizard can go through a basic Q&A with the user and create a generic post.

While I do understand that the programming aspect will not fit like a glove, it may help with the understanding of new comers about the creations of post.

Yes, that would be great if it can be done now.  Years ago ArtCam had such a wizard when I originally worked up a Post for my  16 year old KOMO Invova 510 with a Fanuc controller.  It asked stuff like is there a period after the feed speed in the G code... are the lines numbered...what is the identification code for each spindle, etc.  I recall filling out the form and sending it in to have the post made.  Easy on my end anyway. There just doesn't seem to to be any attention given to woodworking/cabinetmaking needs in Fusion/Inventor.  Seems every metal machine is listed though.   I haven't found a post yet, and don't know how to have one made.  So I don't often use the programs.  Support seems pretty worthless.

Great idea 

Support doesn't seem to be a strong point BUT considering the price point maybe it's 

a reasonable level, still a major disappointment. 

However, a way for us to modify the posts without learning Java or calling support

would save autodesk money and keep us renewing instead of leaving.

Support is utterly none existant im about to try for a refund , this software is nothing but some kind of land grab on the cheap from other vendors, It has now cost us more money in messing around time than if we had just purchased a proper post from a proper company

It is advertised as easy to use and to some degree it is , until you need to actually get a code to produce something out of it then its nothing but problem after problem

Have you posting and asked for a change to be done to your post, you can always get someone to do it for you.
