Hi, Roger Webb here, I use standard G-code mm (tap) output for the SMC controller, I have had no issues with running up to a million lines of 3D G-code. I have videos of the SMC running a CNC router that I built on YouTube.
@Anonymous, thanks for the hint, but excuse my ignorance.
Where would I find these post-processors in Fusion 360?
When I go to the MANUFACTURING space and there go to MANAGE and select Post Library I do get a list of manufacturers and their respective post-processors.
However, when I enter any of your suggested post-processor names "Gcode mm (tap)" or "Mach3 Gcode mm tap" (even in part only) I don't get any hits.
The closest were "Artsoft - Mach3Mill" and "CNC Router Parts - CNC Router Parts (Mach3Mill)".
just set up my SMC5 and wondering what post processor to use, and as i see the Gcode alternatives suggested by @Anonymous are not available in my version as far as i can see. maybe there is a shared processor to download somewhere? or is there a usable alternative in 360?
The community need a postprocessor for the SMC5. Looking at the manual it does use a lot of the G codes and M codes I have used with Mach3. I can't get it to load or run some of the code I have made with Fusion.
I would be open to paying a small amount for the post processor if it worked well.
I build CNC custom equipment and would like to use the SMC5 controller on more projects but it is way to hard to make work. Please someone make a post processor for this product.
@randyt150, sorry for the late reply - I hope you weren't stuck all this time.
Since I also didn't get any feedback on my own post, I read up on how to tweak stock post-processors and modified the Mach3Mill post-processor to work with my SMC5 and DIY CNC router.
Unfortunately this forum doesn't allow uploading .cps files but if you PM me, we may find a way to send you the file.
