I would like to be able to have the machine set the tool comp height before it rapids to the part setup location.

Currently:

(DRILL2)
N25 T007T0 M6
N30 S1528 M3
N35 G54
N40 M8
N45 G0 X-3.937 Y3.4449
N50 G43 Z0.9546 H7
N55 G0 Z0.5546

Would Like to have this:

(DRILL2)
N25 T007T0 M6
N30 S1528 M3
N35 G54
N40 M8

N45 G43 Z0.9546 H7
N50 G0 X-3.937 Y3.4449
N55 G0 Z0.5546

Thank You in Advance for our Help.

HI @MachinistJoe ,

First, we should call the initial position of the X and Y axes, and then Z.
If we say Z first then the machine may collide.

Thanks,

The reasoning behind this is that at times I have a part that is taller than the home position for the machine and have had a few close calls with the machine going to the X,Y position set with G54 before doing tool height adjustment. I was hoping for it to do the tool height adjustment before the rapid movement to the  X,Y position.

HI @MachinistJoe ,

I would suggest you use Manual NC.
You can call the XY position manually with the help of Manual NC.

(MITSUBISHI WSX445UR0204AA WSNGU140812ANFR-L TF15 INSERTS)
N40 T3
N45 S5000 M3
N50 X Y  // measure the length of tool and set it in offset.
N55 G54
N60 G0 X120.65 Y-45.559
N65 G43 Z1405.89 H2

Please refer the post processor training guide for more detail.

Thank You!
Would I add that line of code manually as it is written?
Or is that something that would be added the the Post itself with as a true/false statement?

Thanks Again for your help!
