Siemens 810D Machine specific changes

I started trying to edit the Siemens SINUMERIK 810D post for use in Fusion360, but am not sure how to continue.

I THINK I got the "coolant" options ok, however I am not sure how to change the Automatic Tool change in the post. The machine in question uses L6 (subroutine/macro on the machine under USER CYCLES) for automatic tool change (using a 24 position tool carousel [W-axis] + 1 fixed for a right angle saw-head attachment), whereas M6 is used when doing manual tool changes (which I only do in MDA mode anyways).  I did find on line 1978 "COMMAND_LOAD_TOOL  : 6" but don't know where it attaches that to an "M" nor how to change that (attachment/concatenation) to an "L" instead. Thank you in advance for the help.

Hello @mikeLJA22

In fact, the code is generated from the line 875 in the current post in the library.

It's inside the onSection function, here is a snippet of the code:

    writeToolBlock("T" + (getProperty("toolAsName") ? ("=" + "\"") + (tool.description.toUpperCase()) + "\"" : toolFormat.format(tool.number)), dFormat.format(lengthOffset));
    writeBlock(mFormat.format(6));
    if (tool.comment) {
      writeComment(tool.comment);
    }

This is the mFormat that is defining the prefix.

By default, we don't have any format using a L prefix.

But we can edit the post, using a pure text editor (notepad, but NOT Word....)

And let's go to the top of the post:

var gFormat = createFormat({prefix:"G", decimals:0});
var lFormat = createFormat({prefix:"L", decimals:0});  // new format added
var mFormat = createFormat({prefix:"M", decimals:0});
var hFormat = createFormat({prefix:"H", decimals:0});

After adding this format we will be able to use it for the tool call.

We can change the earlier code to that one:

    writeToolBlock("T" + (getProperty("toolAsName") ? ("=" + "\"") + (tool.description.toUpperCase()) + "\"" : toolFormat.format(tool.number)), dFormat.format(lengthOffset));
    writeBlock(lFormat.format(6)); // use lFormat instead of mFormat
    if (tool.comment) {
      writeComment(tool.comment);
    }

Regards
