Hello @tholmesCC6G3

The ESAB post mentioned in message 16 of this thread is the current ESAB post. Read message 16.

With that said, ....

it makes slightly different code. Look at the attached file. Highlights include:

Using M65/M66 instead of M70/M73? for torch on and off.

I'm really guessing at what the M codes do. Tell me what each one does and I'll show you where to customize it like you need.

M68= THC on?

M69= THC off

M70= Torch on?

M71= ???????

M73= Torch off

I am having trouble writing the code, I just need the coordinates section, having issues with the I and J.

M68= KERF RIGHT

M69= KERF OFF

M70= OXY FUEL CUTTING CYCLE START

M71= CUTTING CYCLE STOP

M73= CUT STOP

Hi @tholmesCC6G3

"having issues with the I and J" is not quite enough information for me to help you.

What is it doing and what do you need it to do? Absolute IJ's? Incremental IJ's? R's instead?

Tell me more......

What about ESSI format? We have ESAB with ESSI format I tried to change the old post that have ESSI format but there was an Absolute system and our plasma works with Relative. I cant see that post variables to use them as references in fixing post...I tried this one  :  https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/hsm-post-processor-forum/autodesk-hsm-post-editor-for-visual-studio-c...     for help but that plugin says that it can't find variables of that post.

I guess my point is none of the post processors in this Forum work for our application. I don't even get code to fix, just an error.

You will need to get a custom post processor written if the generic or above posts are not providing the required output for your machine. I offer post processor development services and happy to work out a solution for your machine! Email me at: [email protected] if still needing assistance.

Hi all! I have earlier posted a reply here with a postprosessor with  ESSI output for old ESAB controls with local height and speed control.  The first one had a series of flaws and user dependable hatches/tricks wich i now have corrected. It now operates flawless on our machine/control with no manual intervention as a normal post should do.  Our controller is an ESAB NC510 ca 1980 ish mod. I have also shared it with one other user wich also have used it with success on a newer Vision 2000 control. (control model not confirmed, but newer). New post version attached free to use for those who dare and need!

Check with ESAB or your CAM software provider for the Vision 2000-specific post processor. If you mention which CAM software you’re using, someone may know the correct one.

I have an Esab Vision 51, with a modified post processor for fusion. I've used the "Esab Plasma" Linked earlier, and modified it. It works well and makes .mpg format. I do struggle with the THC torch height. At corners and lead out, and at the end of cuts, the THC dives, and sometimes hit the plate. I still need to program the Post processor to diasable THC at corners and end of cut (Lead out) M57 should be THC off / M58 should be THC on. Im not at all strong in writing G codes, but will see if i cant find anything.

But i think i have read that you can set this directly in the Vision51 controller, but i am not sure. I cant seem to find it....I have attached the post processor i use.

Hi. Please find attached an altered version of your post. It now contains some THC control based on inserting M57 and M58. See attached screenshot of post window extra THC functionality. Warning: Not tested on machine/control!!  Proceed with causion!  You firstly have to test and see if it accepts the M57/58 and secondly do som testing of wich values that gives you the best cutting results.

Hi again

The Post processor with m57/M58 do not work. I have typed every single number from M01 to M100 on the .mpg file in the Vision51 monitor. And the M54 is Height Control block. (se attached picture), But it do not have a "M" code there activates it again. But i think THC activates, when torch Turns on. Is it possible to code The M54 to reduced cutting speed, like 85% speed it needs to shut of THC, and then activate it again when it goes over 85% set cutting speed? But i guess it will never turn THC on in small holes?

Hi. I need some clarification. The M54 code in the picture, have you entered this yourself or is it output from fusion or just containd in an old manually programmed  program? When you say you entered all M codes you enter them manually and by highlighting you get information about them as shown in picture? Do you have some more information about machine/controller like serial nr and year model. Do you have any programming manuals spesific for the machine/delivered with it? I think if we find how your mahine is intended to run and wich codes it is set up with it is very likely possibel to make fusion ouput what it needs. And also when you say that the file i sendt you does not work, in what way does it not work? Does it fail when posting from fusion? (Works here for me). Does it fail to load to machine? Does it fail to run? or does it run but just doesent do the THC stuff? I will study a little on the M54 trace and se if i can find any information around this on the net

Hi again! I can see from the picture you sendt that the code section contains M51 after M54 while cutting is on. Is it possibel to highlight the M51 code and see its designation like as you have done with the M54?

Hi, yes i have entered the M54 myself on the Vision controller.

And yes i have manually entered all numbers up to M100, and highligted them. I have not written it all down word for word, but i can do if you want it. Many of them is blank/makes red line for error. The .mpg from your post can load, but it comes up with an error, and say which line in the .mpg there is wrong, in this case m57 and m58. It cant run on the file at all. Ill take som pictures of the setup tomorrow, and see if i can find serials on it. I think it is intended to work as THC is turned off when machine go some percentage slower than the set cut speed.

I dont have specific programming manuals, only handbook on the Vision51, and it is not too good covered.

M51 is "gas off"

Ill make a list tomorrow
