Okuma post mods.

I have an Okuma post that works pretty much exactly like I want it to except for one super annoying detail. I have three Kurt double station vises in my machine and whenever I have them full, the posts makes the machine go to Z max every time it moves to a different work offset. Every time I create anew program I have to manually edit it to go up 1' instead. If anyone could help me fix this I would be ecstatic. Post and example files are attached.

Thanks.

Hi @17asleep

If you were using the latest Okuma post from the library, an option would allow you to select the retract mode.

You would have access to "Clearance Height", "G16" Mode.

But it's an older post without that functionnality.

You are always using G16 mode.

The Z value can be modified via a post property.

The default value is Z500.

By editing a edit box, it can be changed to another value:

It may solve your issue without editing the post.

Regards

Scratch that. On paper it seems an elegant solution. In practice, it's a disaster. Good way to break tools.
