Hello! Been scratching my head all day with this as I'm new the CAM extension here (not new to Fusion) but have used other CAM software in the past. I'm trying to mill a cylinder down into an octagonal shape then slot on the side all in the 4th axis. Nothing fancy. I set my work coordinates with the Z as the rotary axis, set my stock, then go in and set my tool orientation and pattern it around. The simulation looks as it should. When I got to postprocess this using the generic Mach3 mill, I get an error:
My 4th axis sits along my Y, which I've selected. Enabling the aAxis variable on the onOpen function is no longer a thing and I've used 3 axis milling, turning, and even some 4th axis work for the last month with no issues. This is just enraging me and I'm on a deadline. F3D with tool paths attached. Just looking for help on the '4th axis ops'
Thank you.
Hi @joseph4GLRH
The setup is wrongly created. it is a milling machine with the 4axis enabled so the operation type should be milling and the WCS should set along the rotary axis and it should be something like this.
And while post processing choose the configuration as shown below
ok, thank you. Can this also be run along the Y axis? we do not use our 4th on the X.
Hello? I still don't have this working on my machine and I've asked a question with no response so I've just been programming the 4th manually.
It still fails on my machine, even your file does too.
Please help. I'm paying a bunch for nothing right now.
It still isn't working. I'm blown away by how little you care for your customers.
The file you gave me does not work. I have no idea what is going on here.
Do I need to jump up and down? It's been months and nothing!
Here's the errors Im gettng off your file --
Hi @joseph4GLRH
Apologies for the delayed response! Somehow I didn't any notification.. yes you could do the same for Y axis only thing is in the setup, the axis you wanted needs to be along the rotary axis.
The reason you are getting the error because the safe retract method you are using is clearance height this needs to be other than the clearance height.
You can change that in the properties
