Fusion 360 Cascading Post Documentation ?

Hello,

I have did some minor modifications to milling posts I downloaded from Fusion 360 Cam Posts Library , I see the Posts are updated quite often , so my minor modifications need to be done again on the fusion posts , I see an option of "Cascade Post" in NC Dialog.

My Plan is to use Cascade Posts so my minor modifications like some comment lines , my name , etc , etc stay in those posts and everytime a new post comes I just use the new ones and then atop that run my Minor Modifications Post ? Possible ? , I in no way change what is output however I only add some comments on few operations , a good date format , such are my modifications.

Let me know if the meaning of Cascade Posts option is same as I want to use it. Also if there is any documentation let me know , I could not find about it in training guide.

Hello @GermanWings 

What you try to achieve is not the purpose of the cascading post.

The cascading post is use for creating an output, in complement to the output of the post.

For example, creating a setup sheet with the cascading post, then the nc code with the machine post.

Or else exporting for 'camplete/nc simul/... then creating the nc code.

@serge.quiblier Then How can I achieve what I want simply ? , For Instance I work on a DMG Mori NLX2500 and a Haas ST20Y , I would like to use the nice program structure on both the machines so it looks in a standard shape in both the machines.

Possible ?

Hi @GermanWings 

The only way is to do it manually.

When a new revision of a post is available, compare the old and newer post using a tool like WinMerge.

WinMerge have the nice feature, of being able to copy the changed content, from one post to the other.

You can also use Notepad++, as there is add-in for comparing, and it's a multiple documents editor.
