I need to alter a post processor for our Brother TC-22A machines.
i will be trawling the forum for existing information, but with so many changes needed i would appreciate any help offered.
i have attached some sample programs that have been made in edgecam, this format is standard through the company so I need the new programs to look like this so the transition between our old and new system is as smooth as possible. (recently transitioned from edgecam to inventor and HSM)
The generic brother post found on the autodesk library runs on the machine if it is manually edited to remove the problems i have listed below.
These machines are basic XYZ, the programming language matches fanuc with the exception of some brother specific G and M codes.
Brother uses G02/G03 for XY arcs, G102/G103 for ZX, and G202/G203 for YZ. unfortunately our machines are incapable of performing these ramping commands in Z, so for this the program must be written from point-to point.
G02/G03 works fine in XY.
The machine rigid tap’s with either g84 or g77, I would prefer to use G77 as our setters are familiar with this.
problems with the generic post:
- The start block is different to our usual format, I need it to output an offset block like you can see in the sample programs i have attached (G10L2P1X0Y0Z0)
- I need the M1 stop to come just after the tool change, so that the program stops with the next tool at home position
- I need the tool names to be put into the program at the point where that tool is called up, rather than just the type of CAM process.
- Our machines alarm out if they read a g17, g18 or g19.
- the generic post processor creates arcs in all axis, Our machines cannot perform arc movements in Z unless its written from point to point.
- The tapping cycles need alteration, I would prefer to use G77 as our setters are familiar with this.
Thank you
