Advanced Post Processor Customization

Hi all,

So I'm going to do a class on "advanced post customization" for Fusion, HSMWorks, and Inventor HSM. So now is your chance to influence me on any subjects that you would like to be. No guarantees, though. But any good ideas for subjects will be considered. This will be about the "advanced" features so any basic stuff will be left out.

There are plenty of CAM classes this AU. You can see all the classes at http://au.autodesk.com/las-vegas/classes.

If you are attending AU, your request will get more weight 🙂 Its not too late to sign up.

@fonsecr

I am joining this class for sure.

I think a good topic would be Head-Head, tool length compensation for 5-axis machines. (I find this quite an easy subject now but others seem to struggle with this a lot)

And on 5-axis translations, for machines without TCP, making it possible to not update the model for each part you put in the machine. (because you have to program from rotary axis center. Something like I did here but then how to do it well: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/hsm-post-processor-forum/post-for-haas-vf7-and-trunnion-210/td-p/6659... )(Another example would be the Datron post)

Good point Laurens. I'll see what I can come up with.

I might have another one.

How to define things that are only true for the current or next section.

Like changing the tool axis or changing the output formats.

And something that really is more advanced, looking through a next section or whole program to change things now.
