Remember Max Spindle Speed For Operations

Remember Max Spindle Speed For Operations

It would be nice if I could set a max spindle speed for specific operations and it would be remembered. I don't want the spindle going over certain speeds depending on if I am using a bar feeder or smaller tooling.

Currently when I change which tool I am using for an operation it resets to 0 or max...this has caused serious shop problems when it isn't caught.

G50 or G92 I believe sets a max spindle RPM depending on CNC Fanuc style control. G50 or G92 should be set before any tool change and at the beginning of the program. Allowing the operation and or job setup to have a spindle limit is also a good idea. This allows the programmer complete control and that's the whole point is it not?

Well,

The problem is that the "new" maximum spindle speed box in the operations changes value when you select a new tool.

Where he wants it to stay like he has set it.

Correct, HSM Works changes the number back to 0 everytime I make a change
to the tool in the tool library. I would think that setting should be tied
to the operation and stay the same.
