Machine Simulation in Inventor HSM

Machine Simulation in Inventor HSM

Hi !

I start working on inventor HSM pro and I want to start a company of CAM outsourcing with your application soon. I tried a lot of CAM application in the past and Inventor HSM don’t have machine kinematic simulation like Catia, Topsolid or HSMworks (who his the brother of Inventor HSM).

The tool simulation is quite good for 3 axis milling or simple turning but it’s inevitable to simulate toolpaths showing the entire CNC machine for 5 axis or other complex operation (table rotation, mill head move, etc.)

I’m not the thirst to speak of this subject and Fusion A360 user ask this too, so this improvement will be great !

PS : sorry for the formulation of a poor French boy 😉

Bonjour, pour votre information nous avons des forums en français à http://www.autodesk.fr/forums

I would also like to know if this is something that is being considered for development. I am going to be needing to program a Haas UMC shortly, and would like to know if I need to start using solidworks with HSMWorks in order to do this, or if I can keep using Inventor HSM.

Apparently machine simulation is about a year away.

Hi All

IS Machine Simulation available yet? Im using HSM Ultimate 2019 and would like to use the 5-axis simulation capability that is available in Solidworks.

Can anyone give a definitive answer to this please?

Regards

Hi @schnauzervillage

Yes machine simulation is available in Solidworks . Refer the below link to see how to setup up your machine in the software. Heads-up : only HSMWORKS Ultimate 2019 has machine simulation .... Anyways you might be having it ... If you have Solidworks at your end and if you have PDMC license then you are allowed to use HSMWORKS (Solidworks HSM plugin) ....

Hi,

there is an add-on product for HSM machine simulation available, which is even based on Gcode:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/de/support/inventor-products/learn-explore/caas/screencast/Main/Detai...

HSMSimul is integrated in Inventor HSM as well as in HSMWorks.

Hi Andreas

where can you get it from?

Hi @schnauzervillage

Please see the below link ... You can contact them through the below link

https://www.hsmtec.de/Produkte/Maschinensimulation

But Still Inventor HSM by default should have a machine simulation tool like HSMWorks ... Being a reseller here at India ... I cannot tell my customers to buy another software just for machine simulation or get a Solidworks seat to use the machine simulation in HSMWorks ... That's totally ridiculous ... Also I don't see any sign of Autodesk bringing machine simulation into Inventor HSM and Fusion 360 (just now they have brought machine configuration support) ...  Some of my customers who asked machine simulation I just referred them to Powermill .... From the heart it really makes me feel bad that I lose some HSM cases like this to Powermill ...

Contact name: Mr. Markus Pingen

You can send a mail to kontakt@camwerk.de.

An English 30 days test version for Haas UMC-750 can be provided.

HSMSimul subscription price is €1690 / year.

Kind regards,

Andreas

I did this and didn’t get offered a trial probably because we are education.

I agree with Aadithya. Why in solidworks and not Inventor? Come on Autodesk pull your selves together please?

When did you contact Camwerk?

Maybe there was no trial offer because rapid move Dog Leg has not been supported until recently. And the trial mode has not been there until recently.

Andreas

Hi

only last week. But to be honest a 30 day trial is not what I need. My point is that it’s available in sw as part of hsmworks install unless I’m mistaken but not available in Inventor. Somebody will see my point and eventually sort it. At £1700 per annum it’s a good deal I suppose but at that I’d expect it to be integrated with my cam authoring tool. Being in education Autodesk do a great deal so I’m disappointed but accept the situation.

if it is bundled with hsmworks in solidworks it must be to do with deal done by Autodesk when they purchased hsm a while ago so as not to upset their solidworks customers.

Hi,

it is not our task to take care missing modules in Inventor.

We are a competitor of Vericut, NCSimul etc. As far as I know these software
packages are also not free of charge in HSM.

Kind regards,

Andreas

Agreed. HSMWorks has this functionality, but Inventor HSM (Inventor CAM) does not. Machine simulation, especially for 5 axis, would be a huge plus.
