Inventor Cam pattern options

Inventor Cam pattern options

It would be nice when creating patterns for machine processes in Inventor for you to deselect certain holes in the pattern if you want to ignore them.

The same would be nice for the drilling option where you can select "select same size", you should be able to deselect holes you dont want to drill afterwards. For instance, I have a sheet of 300 something holes in it, we drill three in a pattern ahead of time, put a program pause in, and use those holes to help hold the sheet down so we can achieve the tolerance needed and not worry about the sheet warping.
I now need to select the rest of the holes in the sheet individually because the other three are already in the part and I dont want to drill those holes again...

If you select a "Containment Boundary" around all of the holes, you can then select the holes you don't want drilled and they will be "de-selected" from the group.

tim.mcadam.. it would be nice to achieve this option, without having to create all new geometry as a containment boundary. Any programmer will tell you that avoiding having to create additional geometry is WAY faster, and better to work with.

@timsautodesk2015 ... Depending on what and where you need to "deselect", you can select features already on the model for the containment boundary, without having to create additional geometry. (ie; the profile of the part, a blind pocket profile, etc). We make some parts with thru holes that have a pocket on the backside. Sometimes the holes are too close to the wall for chamfering, so I select the pocket profile as the boundary and then select the holes that I can't chamfer to deselect them.
