In HSM there is the great option to insert folders whenever you need them.
You can also make a pattern of the operations in the folder.
Wouldn't it be great if you had the option to select geometries in the folder?
Activate a checkbox called "Select geometries".
You get the possibility to choose 4 types of geometries.
1. holes with the same options as when drilling "find the same holes etc".
2. Features. If you have 20 times the same bag, just choose one and let it find the same ones.
3. simple open and closed contours.
4. surfaces
additionally you can choose the orientation.
If you now place an operation in this folder it is active by default that it uses the geometries from the folder. You can also add additional geometries in the operation settings or deselect that it schould not use the folder geometry.
If you now have a template, you can select the geometries once and simply move the operations into the folder.
If you have multiple operations that require the same orientation. You can simply just activate the alignment.
There is the possibility to derive operations from each other. But this is not possible with 2D to 3D operations.
Or what I often do. I programmed a similar thing recently. Then I open the finished program and copy the operations into the new program without a template.
Then you have to select the same contours and alignments over and over again
The geometries from the folder would correspond to an inherited class, as with normal software programming.
You could also nest the folders. First I make a folder only with the alignment.
In this folder I make a new one with the geometries for 3 operations and another one with geometries for 2 completely different operations. I don't have to reorient each time.
If I need the geometry later somewhere else, then I simply copy the folder and paste other operations.
There are so many combinations you could make with it.
I don't want to write down too many now. I hope you could understand the concept 🙂
