Pocket not generating rectangular shape

Hi everyone,

Would appreciate some help in generating the correct toolpath for a rectangular shape. I tried a 2d pocket and the shape is an oval rather than the rectangle of the model. I have attached the part file for reference.

Cheers!

Andy.

HI Andy,

Do you mean the radius in the corners?

Well, this is one of the limits of milling, you "can't" get a sharp inside corner.

The smaller tool you pick, the smaller the radius will be.

You would have to would have to make some dogbone fillets to make a square piece fit in or make it in another way.

When I have things like this this is what I do.

if this doesn't work for you then as Laurens said you'll need to use smaller tools and then take a file and square out.

or you can drill the a hole on each of the corners, would have to be fairly small do to not much material.
