Custom Lathe Tools Supported?

Hi All....I posted this same question in Fusion forum, but it sounds like that package does not support what i am looking for. Does HSMWorks allow users to create special lathe tooling, whether it be turning inserts or special profiling bar? If so, can someone lead me towards a direction of a how-to tutorial? If special profile insert is created, would the CAM be powerful enough to know that both sides are cutting edges and allow the user to use both sides of the insert? The profile bar I have in mind is a special trepan/profile bar that I want to be able to bore an ID, face the floor and then feed out using the opposite edge of the insert. Hopefully HSM has some more powerful features than Fusion, I am trying to avoid buying Mastercam.

Well at this moment you cannot.

A new tool library is being made where everybody hopes this is being solved as well but not much details have been released yet.

As @Laurens-3DTechDraw stated it does not and IMO probably won't for a very long time.  As for having more powerful features from the turning side I would say Fusion is already better then HSMWorks.   

 

I would guess that any lathe improvements would hit Fusion first.  Fusion also has the newer tool library which I assume gets all the attention.  I am doubtful that it will ever be put back into HSMWorks.  So implementation of any custom lathe tools will probably be in Fusion first also.

 

If you decide on Fusion or HSMWorks for lathe, you should really put it to the test with your parts before getting too far into it.

@TRIGOLICNC I agree very much with you. I had a talk with development and they are looking into it.

I am going to have to vote this up. Due to programming high volume parts, I often use custom tools. Such as F or Y tools to create shoulders in both the -Z and +Z direction without an extra tool change.
