Desktop connector does not bring a project down to my computer

I just installed desktop connector. Everything seems to be working fine. It has created and sync'd 4 projects to my computer's C:\ drive just fine.

However, one project does not appear; we call it "Individuals". I mean "Individuals" is present in the team hub. I can see "Individuals" and work on it just fine inside Fusion 360, but "Individuals" is not present in the computer's C drive.

The only thing different on that project is, in the team hub, I have made that project's security as "Folder-Level". The other projects' security is either open, closed or secret. I don't want to change that folder's security. Our team uses that folder as a top level project for Individuals in the team... like this:

Individuals:

|-Dave

|-Raj

|-Amy

Individuals can see each other files, but not edit them. They have reader permissions on other's folders, but Administrator for themselves. This system has been working fine for our team. The idea was to prevent people from editing and deleting each other's files. We do have a "Team CAD" folder where everyone can put their CAD files and work on them collaboratively.

Any solution?

-Raj

FL Projects is not supported on Desktop Connector and Mobile clients currently. Please use the data panel of Fremont to browse through your project (and its data).

Thanks Abhinav.

Our team needs to have a place/folder to put their files where other team members can see those files but "not" edit them.

As an alternative to Folder Level security type folder/project, I am trying this but that also is not working:

  1. I created a top level project called "team members" and set it security to "closed".
  2. Then I created a folder underneath it for myself and named it "Raj".
  3. I invited a team member Dave to it and gave him viewer.

However, Dave is unable to see the folder in desktop connector (C drive).

Looks like a user needs Read "and" write permissions (Editor) on a project , for the project to work properly with Desktop Connector.

Is that so?

What would you recommend as an alternative solution to my problem?

I am sure others have faced this issue also. I wonder what others do?

Well, nothing is working 😞 . This feature is very limiting!

Although I am still trying to understand what is the real use / intended  use for the desktop connector......these limitations of permissions are a mess!

Another use of the desktop connector was .........as a pie in the sky.........but I have been unable to use the desktop connector for sharing inventor files with team members 😞
